New for 2008
The DNA is proud of the revised format that has been instituted for the 26th Annual Convention. The changes have been implemented in response to member feedback and are designed to meet the diverse needs of our membership. In 2008, DNA is introducing a wider range of topics for dermatology staff at all levels, practical information that addresses strategies for incorporating nursing research into everyday practice, alternative teaching modalities, a record number of exhibitors, extended exhibit hall hours, and more nurse speakers than ever before!
Enhancing Your Dermatology Knowledge
The 26th Annual Convention agenda highlights a broad array of dermatology care issues. Dermatology professionals can delve into areas of interest in great detail by attending the Convention Specialty Tracks in Advanced Practice, Cosmetic General Dermatology, Lasers, Office Practice, Professional Practice, Research, Surgery and Technology. The Nurse Practitioners Society will also sponsor a two-day workshop for Nurse Practitioners.
To ensure that instruction is compatible with training, participants can choose courses by skill level. Sessions are tailored to beginner, intermediate or advanced practitioners. Those who attend can expect to use the information gained about diseases and disorders to improve patient care, understand the challenges and issues that impact patient care, and form lasting relationships with others in the field. For individuals interested in becoming a certified dermatology nurse, the certification exam will be held March 27.
For those who are eager to begin their education early, pre convention workshops have been organized around topics such as: Nursing Basics, Certification Review, Wound Care and Nurse Practitioners. These workshops are scheduled for March 25.
Plus, attendees who register for the pre-conference Dermatology Basics and Certification Review Course at the annual conference will receive a Dermatology Nursing Essentials text free!
“This is a great opportunity for those in the field to sharpen their skills. The DNA Annual Convention is one of the best investments dermatology professionals can make in their career,” said Susan Tofte, MS, RN, FNP-C, 2007-2008 DNA President.
Continuing education credits are available.
