Goal 1: Membership
- The DNA will be an inclusive community of dermatology health care providers.
- Objective 1: Increase RN/NP membership to maintain recognition as a professional nursing organization.
- Objective 2: Increase the recognition and participation of associate members and LPNs/LVNs.
- Objective 3: Increase educational/mentoring opportunities that are easily accessible and timely and promote career mobility.
Goal 2: Image
- The DNA and its members will be recognized and respected as experts in the field of dermatologic nursing care.
- Objective 1: Increase recognition of the value of a DNC.
- Objective 2: Increase visibility of the DNA and its members.
- Objective 3: Increase communication to members and the public of our accomplishments.

Goal 3: Professional Competency
- Participation in DNA education activities will increase the competency of those caring for dermatology patients.
- Objective 1: Increase the number and accessibility of educational activities.
- Objective 2: Increase the number of members who are certified, specifically nurse practitioners (NPs).
- Objective 3: Enhance our strength as the distributor of new and cutting edge information.
- Objective 4: Become increasingly known and utilized as the resource center for education.
Goal 4: Research
- The DNA will enhance dermatology nursing through the integration of evidence-based practice into everyday clinical practice.
- Objective 1: Promote members' awareness and understanding of evidence-based practice to dermatology nursing.
- Objective 2: Develop members' skills in assessing, critiquing and utilizing research-based evidence to influence dermatology nursing practice and policy.
- Objective 3: Develop a common research agenda for the specialty of dermatology nursing.
- Objective 4: Enhance the capacity to support members' involvement in conducting, participating in, and generating dermatology nursing research.
Goal 5: Advocacy and Influence
- The DNA will be an effective advocate for members, patients, and the general public.
- Objective 1: Increase overall awareness of financial strategies and resources.
- Objective 2: Increase membership involvement and understanding in advocacy efforts.
