The NP Society of the DNA is preparing to hold elections for the 2010-2011 Executive Committee. The Executive Committee provides the NP Society with leadership and serves as the core governance group within the Society. Elections will be held in December 2009 and/or January 2010 for the Chair-Elect and two (2) Committee Members-at-Large positions. Nominate a colleague or self-nominate yourself.

Nomination Process

To nominate a colleague or yourself for the Chair-Elect or a Committee Member-at-Large position, fill out the Nomination Form. Submit the form via fax to the attention of Birsu Bascillar at 856-439-0525, or via email at bbascillar@ahint.com, before December 4, 2009.

Eligibility Requirements

Nominees for Chair-Elect must have served previously on the DNA Board of Directors or have served a two-year term on the NPS Executive Committee. Nominees for the Chair-Elect or Committee Member-at-Large position must have certification or be certification eligible. Nominees must provide proof of eligibility in the form of the following documentation:

  • CV
  • Licensure copy
  • Proof of advanced practice nurse,
  • NP certification copy
  • A brief letter from an employer as proof of current status as a nurse practitioner in dermatology (2 year minimum).

Terms of Service and Time Commitment

Chair-Elect
This is a three-year commitment. This position serves one year as Chair-Elect, one year as Chair, and one year as Immediate Past Chair in consecutive years.

Committee Member-at-Large
This is a two-year commitment. If elected to this position, you have the option to run again for a second term of an additional two years.

Annual Time Commitment
The NP Society Executive Committee meets once a month via an evening conference call lasting about 1 to 1.5 hours each. You would be committed to participating on these monthly calls.

The Executive Committee also meets in a face-to-face meeting at the DNA Annual Convention. If you are attending the convention, you would be committed to attend this meeting. The Chair and Chair-Elect are expected to attend the NP Business Meeting at the annual convention.

Additionally, there will be times when you are assigned to a Work Group Project in which you might meet via additional conference calls and work on your own time to help complete the project at hand.
