The National Council for Skin Cancer Prevention (NCSCP) initiated Don't Fry Day to educate the public about sun protection and skin cancer prevention. This takes place every Friday before Memorial Day, the unofficial first day of summer for most Americans and a great day to reinforce sun safety messages. We hope to have DNA members around the country educating patients and the public about skin cancer prevention on Don't Fry Day. Read the official Press Release on Don't Fry Day here.
Because no single step can fully protect you and your family from overexposure to UV radiation, follow as many of the following tips as possible:
The DNA, along with other NCSCP members, has created a Don't Fry Day handout for use by its members to download and distribute to patients. The NCSCP has additional documents including a school activities, media resources, and background fact sheet available at www.skincancerprevention.org.
