Call for Nominations for 2013 Officers: Board of Directors and Nominating Committee
The DNA's continued growth is dependent upon the selection of new leaders who possess unique skills and the willingness to volunteer their time and expertise to their professional organization. The nomination process involves completion of an Intent to Serve Form followed by the more formal submission of a curriculum vitae, and a personal goal statement. If you are interested in any of the open positions listed below, simply complete the Intent to Serve Form and submit it by June 15, 2012. You can also Nominate a Colleague here.
Board of Directors
The DNA Board of Directors meets 4-6 times a year, via face-to-face meetings, which includes attendance at the Annual DNA Convention, or via conference call meetings. You are expected to attend all Board meetings whether they are face-to-face or via conference call. Face-to-face board meetings are usually held over a 2-3 day period. You must be willing to travel. Board members are reimbursed for most travel expenses. All positions require membership in the DNA. Being DNC or DCNP is preferred by not required. You must be willing to be available for Board business via email when needed.
Nominating Committee (2 positions open)
The Nominating Committee is a two-year position elected by the membership. In this position you have the opportunity to help prepare a slate of officers for upcoming elections. Not only do you help to select qualified candidates, but you advise of the demands needed to fill the positions. In this position you use all the resources of the DNA, such as chapter presidents and committee chairs, to offer up possible candidates.
Though taking on a major leadership position in the DNA may appear overwhelming, the support and encouragement of other Board members make the experience not only worthwhile and gratifying but also fun! Life long friendships have been made while serving on these positions. Nominate yourself, nominate a friend, but don't miss these wonderful opportunities to be an active player in the DNA, travel, make friends, and mentor others!
